This Cookie Policy explains how snailmail.eco LLC ("Just Get Crafty," "we," "us," or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit or use justgetcrafty.com (the "Service"). It should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which describes how we handle your personal information more generally.
In short: we use essential (strictly necessary) cookies and storage, plus, only while we are running ad campaigns, a single Google Ads conversion cookie that tells us which of our ads brought a visitor who then signed up. We do not use analytics or cross-site tracking cookies.
1. What are cookies and similar technologies?
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device (computer, phone, or tablet) when you visit. They are widely used to make websites work, or work more efficiently, and to remember information about your visit.
We also use other browser storage technologies that behave similarly but store data within your browser rather than sending it back and forth with every request:
- localStorage: stores data in your browser that persists across sessions until it is cleared. It stays on your device.
- sessionStorage: stores data only for the duration of a single browser tab/session.
In this policy, we use "cookies" loosely to refer to all of these technologies unless we say otherwise.
2. The cookies and storage we use
We use these technologies where they are strictly necessary to operate the Service, keep you signed in, and preserve your work, plus two tab-scoped items used to measure our own site (both listed below, both deleted when you close the tab, neither able to recognise you on a later visit). The main items are:

Exact names and durations may vary as providers update their software. Apart from the ad conversion cookie above (active only during our ad campaigns), the purposes are essential-only.
3. Analytics, advertising, and tracking cookies
Just Get Crafty does not use:
- Third-party analytics services (no Google Analytics, no Meta Pixel, no equivalent),
- Third-party tracking or cross-site profiling cookies,
- Cookies used to show you ads on other websites,
- Any persistent identifier that follows you between visits or between devices.
We do measure our own site, without cookies. To know which parts of the Service people actually use and where they get stuck, our own server counts a small number of events (for example "a demo was used", "a font build finished"). These use no cookies, involve no third party, and carry nothing that identifies you. Where an event needs to be connected to the other events in the same visit, it uses the tab-scoped `jgc_sid` described in Section 2, which is deleted the moment you close the tab. Alongside it we may store the bare domain you arrived from (google.com), never the full address, so no search terms are ever recorded.
Honouring your browser's opt-out signal. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control (GPC) or Do Not Track, we honour it automatically and without you having to ask: no jgc_sid, no jgc_src, and no referring domain are recorded. We still count that an event happened, because a bare tally identifies nobody, but nothing from your visit can be linked together. The Service behaves identically either way.
The one advertising-related cookie we use is the Google Ads conversion cookie described in Section 2. It is set only while we are running ad campaigns, and it does one narrow job: if you clicked one of our ads, it lets us learn that the click led to a sign-up, so we know which of our ads work. It is not used to profile you or follow you around the web on our behalf.
If our use of cookies expands in the future, we will update this Cookie Policy and, where required by law (for example under the EU/UK GDPR and ePrivacy rules), we will ask for your consent before setting any non-essential cookies.
4. Third-party cookies
Some features rely on trusted third parties who may set their own cookies when you interact with their services. These are governed by the third party's own cookie and privacy policies:
- Stripe: when you make a payment, Stripe processes checkout and may set cookies for payment processing and fraud prevention. See Stripe's cookie/privacy notices for details.
- Google: if you choose to sign in with Google, Google may set cookies as part of its sign-in flow. While we are running ad campaigns, Google also sets the conversion measurement cookie described in Section 2. See Google's cookie/privacy notices for details.
We do not control these third-party cookies. They are only triggered when you actively use the related feature (paying, or signing in with Google) or, for conversion measurement, while we are running ad campaigns.
5. How to control or delete cookies
You can control and delete cookies and browser storage through your browser settings. Most browsers let you:
- View the cookies and site data currently stored,
- Delete some or all of them,
- Block cookies from specific sites or all sites,
- Clear localStorage/sessionStorage (often under "site data" or "clear browsing data").
Most browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge) document this under "Privacy" or "Cookies and site data" in their settings. You can also use private/incognito browsing, which typically clears cookies and storage when you close the window.
Please note: the cookies and storage we use are essential. If you block or delete them:
- You may not be able to stay logged in (or log in at all),
- Your draft autosave may not be saved or restored, and
- Parts of the Service may not function correctly.
Because these technologies are strictly necessary to provide the Service, the Service may not work as intended without them.
6. Consent and our approach
The Service relies on essential cookies and storage to function; those are not used for tracking. Beyond those, we use only the two tab-scoped, cookieless measurement items in Section 2, which expire when you close the tab, cannot recognise a returning visitor, and are used solely to count our own site's usage, and the Google Ads conversion cookie, active only while we run ad campaigns and used only to measure our own ads.
We display a non-blocking cookie notice to inform you of this use. This notice does not prevent you from using the Service.
We treat Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track as a valid objection to measurement and act on it automatically (Section 3), so a visitor who does not want to be measured does not have to click anything.
If our use of non-essential cookies expands, in particular if we ever introduce a persistent identifier that recognises you across visits, or any third-party analytics, we will update this policy and provide an appropriate consent mechanism before doing so for users in jurisdictions that require it.
A note for California residents (CCPA/CPRA): we do not use cookies to build cross-context behavioral advertising profiles, and we do not sell your personal information. The Google Ads conversion cookie is used to measure the performance of our own ads. For more on your privacy rights, see our Privacy Policy.
A note for EU/UK users (GDPR/ePrivacy): strictly necessary cookies do not require prior consent. We will seek consent for any non-essential cookies before they are set.
7. Changes to this Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time, for example to reflect changes in the technologies we use or for legal reasons. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. If we begin using non-essential cookies, we will make appropriate changes and, where required, seek your consent.
