Keepsakes from a loved one's handwriting

Most handwriting tools assume the writer is here: print this template, write these letters, scan it back. When the writing you have is the writing there is, the tool has to meet the paper where it is. That is what this converter is built for. It works from any reasonably clear photo, and its cleanup was designed around old paper: yellowing, ruled stationery, soft pencil, ballpoint that skips.

Nothing about their hand is altered. The engrave output is their ink as filled shapes; the single-line output follows the path their pen took, which is what a jeweler's engraving tool or a fine laser wants; the cut-out wraps a word in one welded outline so it cuts as a solid piece. If a smudge or a stray mark should not be part of the keepsake, you erase it yourself with the brush, and everything you erase can be restored.

Common keepsakes

A signature or "love you" engraved on a necklace bar or bracelet. An ornament cut from the closing line of a letter. A framed engraving of a whole note. Etsy jewelers who offer memorial handwriting pieces prepare customer photos exactly this way, and the same files work for a laser or CNC engraver at home.
